Cape Cod National Seashore

The National Seashore was created by an act of Congress in 1961 to protect 26,000 acres
of forests, salt marshes, tidal estuaries, and miles of ocean beaches. Over 60% of Wellfleet's land area is the Cape Cod National Seashore.

For more information on this National Park treasure, please visit their website.

Tide Chart of Wellfleet

"Is the tide coming in or going out?" tends to be a favorite question of visitors and residents alike. The ever changing atmosphere of Wellfleet is largely due to the change of the tides. The ebb and flow of fisherman, swimmers, beachcombers and hardy clam seekers vary in number depending on the tide.

So to answer the never-ending question -- check the tide!

Chequessett Golf Course

Built in 1929, this 9-hole Bent grass course with water in play is a unique gem. A beautiful view of the bay can be seen from both sides of the course.

Did someone say "Fore!". . .

Wellfleet Bay Wildlife Sanctuary

Wellfleet Bay's 1,100 acres of salt marsh, sandy beach, pine woodland, freshwater pond, and rare heathland attract a wide array of wildlife, especially songbirds and shorebirds.
